Emily Chen

Director-General

Emily is a sophomore at Harvard studying Economics and Neuroscience with a language citation in French. She was born and raised in the Toronto area in Canada, but her family is originally from Shandong, Jinan.

Emily started doing Model United Nations in grade 9 to overcome her fear of public speaking. She competed at and staffed various Canadian MUN conferences throughout high school, later becoming President of her school’s club, and she continues to compete as a part of Harvard’s Intercollegiate MUN (ICMUN) team. She has also staffed HMUN and HNMUN Boston, most recently as Under-Secretary-General of Operations at HNMUN 2026. In 2025, she staffed HMUN China for the first time, chairing the SOCHUM committee.

Outside of MUN, she is involved in the Harvard Undergraduate Clean Energy Group, various consulting clubs, and serves as a campus tour guide for tourists and prospective students. In her free time, she enjoys art, visiting museums, hiking, running, and baking.

If you have any inquiries, please reach Emily at dg@hmunchina.org.

Adam Brown

Under-Secretary-General of Committees

Adam is a sophomore at Harvard College concentrating in Social Studies while pursuing a citation in Arabic, and he is honored to serve as your Under-Secretary-General of Committees at this 16th iteration of Harvard Model United Nations China!

Originally from Saratoga Springs, New York, he had no prior Model UN experience when he arrived on Harvard’s campus, but joined Harvard's Intercollegiate Model UN team in his first semester and never looked back. He has also staffed Harvard's high school and college conferences in Boston, alongside his experience directing the Historical Crisis Committee at HMUN China 2025 and serving as the Director-General of the inaugural session of HarvardMUN Canada.

Aside from MUN, he is a proud member of Mariachi Véritas de Harvard, where he plays the violin (and occasionally sings)! When not hiding away in one of Harvard’s libraries, he enjoys baking, running, and quality time with friends - but above all, he’ll never turn down an opportunity for a good adventure with friends. He cannot wait to see you all at HMUN China 2026!

You can reach Adam at committees@hmunchina.org for any questions or concerns you may have.
