Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors,

I am thrilled to invite you to apply to the sixth session of Harvard Model United Nations China, to be held from Thursday, March 19, to Sunday, March 22, 2015 in downtown Beijing. We are thrilled to bring 16 of our strongest directors from HMUN Boston and HNMUN Boston, our college-student sister conference. These directors are eager to bring their committees to the delegates at HMUN China and lead them through four days of committee session. More than 1,000 delegates and 100 faculty advisors from around the world will convene to confront and debate issues of international import.

Registration for our upcoming session opens on June 18, and our Priority Registration Deadline will be on October 15. Conference logistics, along with all dates and deadlines and our Country Assignment Sheet, are described more fully on this page.

The vast array of topics and committees will further ensure a uniquely engaging and thought-provoking experience for each and every delegate, from the Futuristic Commission on Space Development, 2030 to the Cabinet of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2015.

For 60 years, HMUN has brought together high school students from across the globe to discuss the most pressing and significant issues of the international community. Each year, delegates research, debate, negotiate, and work together to draft resolutions to solve many of society’s most complex issues, while building skills in public speaking, writing, and teamwork. In 2010, this HMUN model was brought to the international stage, and HMUN brought 13 directors to Beijing for the first time.

Five years later, we are incredibly excited to be partnering with Alpha Partners Education to make our sixth session of HMUN China the best yet. HMUN China will provide an unparalleled substantive experience with additional training materials for delegates and further oppourtunities to connect with directors before the conference. Outside the committee room, delegates will be able to engage with each other and their committee staff through out-of-committee gatherings, chatting at Global Village or through Director’s panels, where each director discusses one of their favorite topics. Furthermore, the committees are led by our most knowledgeable directors, to ensure that debate is engaging, dynamic, and educational. We will also be drawing on the resources of the nation's capital and expertise of our host team to provide exciting opportunities for delegates and faculty advisors to experience China's rich history and culture right in the heart of Beijing.

Whether you have attended HMUN China before or are considering participating for the first time, I strongly encourage you to submit your application by the Priority Registration Deadline on October 15. Until then, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns. HMUN China is an exciting educational opportunity, and I sincerely hope that you will choose to take part in it.

On behalf of the HMUN China staff and Alpha Partners Education, I cordially invite you to join us in Beijing for HMUN China 2015!
